Biography

Gar-hing is an Infectious Diseases Physician and Clinical Microbiologist working in Perth, Western Australia. After graduating from the University of Western Australia with honours he trained at all tertiary hospital sites in WA (SCGH, RPH and FSH) leading to the completion of both physician and pathology training in the areas of Infectious Diseases and Microbiology respectively.

To further his interest in tropical infections he completed a Master of Public Health and Tropical Medicine at James Cook University. His areas of specialty interest include the management of bone/joint infections, infections in the returned traveller, mycobacterial infections, fungal infections and skin infections.

Special interests

His research interests include Staphylococcus aureus and fungal infections, in particular Cryptococcus.
